I get the same message telneting to the AOL mail server from anywhere on the network. It may be poorly named so as to make AOL think it's a dialup. Check your DNS and reverse DNS.

I've tried it, it DOES produce text-only messages from AOL 6.0. I've also heard from the same list that AOL is working on a revision of 6.0 that will include a 'text only' setting for AOL mail without having to go to the underlying mail engine. -- Mike Nolan, List Manager PS. Ahh.. but AOL is rejecting mail *PRECISELY* because sites have chosen one form over another. That's the crux of the problem. AOL set up Preferredmail as part of the CyberPromo lawsuit(s). Are their users aware that some *OTHER* mail may be getting rejected as well, with no warning and no option for the users?
